177. purple fluff
9am and I'm in school having a tutorial. Too early.
I would be more awake if there was coffee. And less reluctant to get out of bed if it wasn't so cold.
We're doing research on the US Elections now.

Need coffee.
And I handed my assignment in way early and have been too mean for my own good.
Need to kick myself.
Pie say what?

Can't believe I'm the one who found the good sites on US Elections funding.
Everyone loves press releases.

175. something out there
"A man may take to drink because he feels himself to be a failure,
and then fail all the more completely because he drinks."

-- Politics and the English Language, George Orwell

So during class on Monday, a girl was asked to read out a something about George Orwell, and she went,

"He adopted his pen name in 1933, while writing for the New Adelphi. He chose a pen name that stressed his deep, lifelong affection for the English tradition and countryside: George is the patron saint of England (and George Vee... I'm such an idiot, George Vee... Hahaha"

"George the fifth," My lecturer responded.

"Oh right, V is fifth!"

So George Orwell's real name isn't George Orwell, it's Eric Blair.

And my lecturer said, "Boring name isn't it? Eric Blair."

Hahaha. School's entertaining.

174. i carry the sun in a golden cup,
I had roasted kangaroo meat last week.
It's almost like beef, but leaner and softer than that. I still prefer thin-sliced steak.

So, summer's coming! Can't wait!
The nights are getting longer and the peak of winter's approaching (cold...).

I've been running and walking up and down the hills of Kelvin Grove so many times a day, for many days a week, which is really going to give me muscular legs and better stamina. That's the only form of exercise I get around here. And I'm really unfit, because by the time I get to the top of the hill, i'd be panting and my legs would be shivering. Weak...

And you know what's wrong with me:
The fact that I act stupid in class, but work really hard. Maybe I have to work really hard because I'm so stupid in class.

Anyway, last weekend there was Singapore's national day celebration and a drive up to Gold Coast to meet Guok & Kat (she's in town till Monday!) for lunch and drive around fun.
And this week, there was Ekka day, which meant, no school for a day (:
